The philosophy of the Canterbury Children’s Center is to provide quality childcare in a nurturing environment that helps foster the growth and development of children.
Our goal is to create a developmentally appropriate program, which meets the individual needs of each child as well as those of the group. We believe that children learn through their play, and that their experiences here at the Center should be joyful and fun.
We offer a well-balanced approach meeting the social, emotional, physical and intellectual needs of the children in our care. At the same time, we take our responsibility to parents very seriously, providing them with a safe, happy and responsive place for their child while they are at Canterbury.
We are open 52 weeks of the year!
Canterbury Children’s Center, established by the Emmanuel Parish, is a multi-service; non-profit, non-denominational program committed to serving the diverse and individual needs of young children starting at the age of 2.9 years.
Canterbury does not discriminate in providing services to children and families, or in employment practices on the basis of family structure, socioeconomics, disabilities, race, religion, age, cultural heritage, political beliefs, sex, marital status, national origin, or sexual orientation.
Canterbury Children’s Center is an NAEYC accredited school.
I am proud to announce that Canterbury Children’s Center received notification yesterday that we have been re-accredited by NAEYC. The staff of Canterbury worked very hard this past year and this is shown in our successful re-accreditation. We wanted to share this wonderful news with the families of Canterbury. Please join me in congratulating the staff on this prestigious accomplishment.
